The Jade Curtain, Dynasty of Dust (television), National Theatre Hamlet

Jiang Haoran is a rising talent whose classical theatre foundation and magnetic screen presence have positioned him as one of the most compelling young leading men in contemporary Chinese cinema.

A graduate of the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, Jiang spent three seasons with the National Theatre Company before transitioning to screen work. His stage portrayal of Hamlet — performed in a radical Mandarin adaptation that relocated the story to a crumbling Song Dynasty court — was hailed as a revelation, blending physical precision with raw emotional transparency. That production’s director later remarked that Jiang possessed the rare ability to make an audience forget they were watching a performance.

His television breakout arrived with Dynasty of Dust, a twelve-episode limited series in which he played a young archaeologist uncovering family secrets buried alongside Silk Road relics. The role drew over two hundred million streaming views and introduced him to a global audience. He followed it with his first major film role in The Jade Curtain, an Étoile Muse ensemble production directed by Chen Bowen, where he starred opposite Mei Lingxiao as a conflicted Cold War diplomat.

Jiang joined Étoile Muse in 2022. He is committed to projects that honour the depth of stage craft while embracing the intimacy the camera demands, and is currently preparing for a bilingual feature filming in Shanghai and London later this year.
